Our
first stop is Lefkara village where you will witness the making of the
traditional "Lefkaritika". The techniques for this amazing embroidery
has been passed down from mother to daughter for centuries. Legend has
it that Leonardo Da Vinci bought Lefkara lace for the altar of the Cathedral
in Milan. The craftsmanship of silver jewellery is also a very important
part of the village's history; the knowledge of this trade has also been
handed down from father to son for many generations.
Afterwards it's off to Limassol (Lemesos)
for shopping and a visit to the Limassol Castle, where according to legend
in 1191 Richard the Lionheart married Berrengaria of Navarre (later as
Queen of England) in a chapel within this castle.
Last
but not least you will visit the largest winery in Cyprus, where after
a guided tour, you will have the opportunity to take part in the wonderful
tradition of wine tasting.
